Dr. Scott Benjamin

Dr. Benjamin was born and raised in Worthington, IN, a small town in southwestern Indiana. He attended Franklin College in Franklin, IN where he majored in Biology, participated on the college baseball team and graduated with a B.A. in 1990.

Dr. Benjamin went on to attend Des Moines University, College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, IA, where he obtained his D.P.M. degree in 1994. Afterward, he was awarded and completed a comprehensive care residency in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at VAMC – Hot Springs, S.D. A significant portion of this training involved patient contact through Indian Health Services at the Pine Ridge Reservation. Valuable experience in evaluation and management of diabetic foot conditions was gained, as the diabetic population on the Reservation approached 70%.

After completing the comprehensive care residency, Dr. Benjamin secured a surgical residency position at Northwest General Hospital in Milwaukee, WI, which he successfully completed in 1997. While participating in the surgical residency, he took it upon himself to re-establish a separate foot clinic within the hospital.

Thereafter, Dr. Benjamin joined a podiatric group practice in Stevens Point, WI, where he developed an admirable reputation for quality patient care and established exceptional relationships with his peers. During this time, he also worked toward and in 2004 completed a surgical board certification with the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.

In 2005, an offer to join an Indianapolis orthopaedic sports group was presented which led to Dr. Benjamin and his family returning to his home state of Indiana. While living in Greenwood, IN, Dr. Benjamin visited with family and friends in Columbus, IN on a regular basis. Over the next couple years he and his wife, Kelly, became convinced that the “community” of Columbus was a place where they would like to raise their three children and establish an independent podiatry practice. Benjamin Podiatry, P.C. opened its doors October 1, 2007.

Located at 4001 Goeller Blvd., Suite B Columbus, IN 47201, Dr. Benjamin is excited to have his practice established and is dedicated to providing unparalleled medical and surgical care of the foot.
